In this 65th episode Joshua tells how his wife can easily startle him. Kerrie promises she will give it a try too. Their conversation centers around John’s writing about Jesus’ appearance and issuing peace to the disciples. Listen, think about it, and share this conversation at your table.
*It was a Sunday night. Jesus’ disciples were in a meeting behind locked doors after Jesus had been crucified. They were afraid for their own lives. Jesus made a stunning appearance. Everything shifted when their eyes were opened to the living presence of Christ. Fear shifted to joy.
Jesus issued peace to be with them. And, then, repeated the statement, a word of healing–a wellness–that begins with the soul. Peace is a crucial element of the with-God life to receive and give.
*That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them!
“Peace be with you,” he said. As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord!
Again he said, “Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” (John 20:19-21, NLT)
